Our party of chaps on annual car tour felt the Plas Ceiriog was just great. Fitted our requirements for good communal spaces and seperate bedrooms perfectly. Area is just great for gentle motoring and scenery. — Rob Amos, 10 Oct 2024

We have just returned from our second visit. We are 19 ladies hoping to play local clubs but the weather was against us but despite the rain we had a great time the magnificent house welcomed us with open arms! The meals we had catered by chef Robert were lovely all in all a fabulous break would highly recommend this house. — Joyce clement-evans, 05 Oct 2024

Our family are hoping to book again for a fourth time next year! We cannot imagine finding anywhere that we love so much and that meets our needs so well. We love the location, the beautiful view from the terrace, the space inside and out for children to play, the fact that all the bedrooms are good ones, the comfortable sitting and dining spaces, the handiness of the playground, the shop and that pub… Katy and James have been great too. We have found no downsides! — Alison Lythgoe, 15 Sep 2024

Sadly we have just left after our 3rd wonderful stay at Plas Ceiriog. We so enjoy coming and the building works perfectly for our large family. Some went horse riding and there was a music festival on nearby. We took our own food and drink although there is a nice pub at the bottom of the hill. There are also restaurants and food outlets in Chirk only 10 mins away. The building has ample space so that we could do different things in each of the rooms. The kitchen is fully equipped with everything and the en suite bedrooms are spotless and nicely decorated. We are looking forward to returning next year. We are a walking group and stayed for a week at Plas Ceiriog in June 2024. There were 19 of us, and we absolutely loved the spacious beautiful decorated property. We ordered meals from Cook for the group, and also ate in the pub in short walking distance on some evenings. The lounges are excellent, one with a beautiful fireplace, the other with a TV, which we mainly used for tea when coming back from our walks. In the evening we stayed in the comfortable big lounge. The rooms were excellent, and beds were comfortable. Some of the group were a bit cold in the evening, so ensure you work out putting radiators on. The dining room is beautiful for a group of our size or even more. The kitchen has two sinks and a one further back. The kitchen is well equipped and practical. There are several refrigerators and a big freezer. The outside is really beautiful, and on some sunny afternoons we sat on the nice patio. The views from the property are very nice. The walks in the area are superb with the 2 aquaducts, and we had a lovely walk upon the nearby moors from the property. There is also bus transport to the property. And there is a lovely well stocked shop in walking distance. The peacocks at the property were interesting company! I can recommend staying at this property to everyone. — Alie Hagedoorn, 08 Jul 2024

Well what a fabulous house! 18 of us stayed for 3 nights in May, from ages 2 to 72. Plenty of space for everyone. Beds where super comfortable with all rooms having enquires,so no arguing over the bathroom. Spent days out in llangollen which was only 20 minutes drive away and booked to go on the train from llangollen to Corwen one day. Of an evening we catered for ourselves apart from the last night which we ordered a takeaway from a fish and chip shop in Chirk that we picked up ourselves. Would definitely recommend and wouldn't hesitate to return here. — Ailsa Davidson , 04 Jun 2024

What a fabulous house. We (21) ladies have stayed here for our annual golf break and have had a fabulous time. On our golf free day some of our ladies booked the Zip Wire and raised money for charity. Some booked a barge on the Aquaduct and others walked and visited Plas Newyn and beautiful Llangollen. We self catered dinner on two nights and booked a local chef for our last nigbt. The chef prepared a 2 course meal for us and it was delightful to have a meal cooked to perfection. His name was Robert Walters (Tel 07852 93191) We hope very much to do it all again next year. Thank you — Margaret, 12 Oct 2023

A beautiful quiet place to stay. Travelling out each day to visit sites of interest. A wonderful catch-up with all our family from the UK, Channel Islands and France, superb! Certainly recommended😃 — Stephen Spars , 22 Jul 2023

Absolutely blown away by the quality and magnificence of Plas Ceiriog! What a wonderful lodge. We did not wish to leave! The lodge was perfect in every way! It was just what we needed, the space for ample, we had everything we could possibly have needed plus so much more! It was the perfect setting for us to enjoy a 40th Birthday with friends. The lodge is easy to find, surrounded by amazing landscapes & so much to do locally. We particularly liked that the majority of the rooms were doubles, as it’s so tricky trying to find group accommodation that doesn't have dorms or bunkbeds. We also loved the two sitting areas; we kept the TV room as the kid room and the larger room with the bookcases as the adult room - this saved us being surrounded by toys after all the kids went to bed; and having doors on the other room meant that any noise didn't travel up the stairs once the kids were asleep. The outside decked area was perfect for the kids, fresh air but enclosed. The lawn area was great for running off steam and the seating area was perfect for al fresco dinning. Another thing we really liked was the communal loo's - seems silly, but it was so much easier than having to take the kids upstairs to bedrooms to use the toilets. Overall, a truly wonderful place to celebrate a special birthday. Thank you for letting us enjoy the Lodge. Desperately trying to think of a reason to return now! — Jennifer Cheesman, 02 Jun 2023

To say we had a wonderful time is rather an understatement. It was truly stupendous!. The house was second to none, the setting spectacular and the weather made it. We are trying desperately to find an excuse for a revisit. — Jean (Ridgeway Chorale), 14 May 2023

We had a fantastic time during our weekend at the Lodge in mid April. A family get together of 20+ with age ranges 3 yrs to 89 yrs. The kitchen is large and was well equipped for us to cater for ourselves on the Friday and Saturday. The dining room is an amazing space and was great for games and socialising after our meal. We enjoyed a lovely roast dinner on Sunday afternoon at the Glyn Valley hotel/pub at the bottom of the drive (booked in advance of our visit with Jamie the chef). Our days were spent exploring the surrounding area which is lovely, the Aquaduct and Llangollen included. Some of our party took the children on a visit to Park Hall Farm (20 minute drive) which was great for the kiddies which lots of activities for them to enjoy. Some of the more adventurous drove an hour and a half to do the Zip Line Velocity which is the longest and fastest in Europe, while others just relaxed at the house or went for a stroll. The bedrooms were spotless and more than comfortable with the added bonus, they are all en-suite. We just had an amazing time and hope to return in the future. Thank you Katy & James x — Kathryn Hill, 20 Apr 2023

What a fab place to stay! We rented the whole house at capacity with the 'overflow' staying at my parents at the back of Plas Ceiriog. Plas Ceiriog really fitted the bill. It is lovely and spacious and easily coped with us all. We had such a lovely time, enjoying all the cosy living areas - with the youngsters and oldsters mixing and enjoying the space. There was plenty of wood for the woodstove at the end of the living room and the heating kept us toasty warm. The kitchen facilities were excellent and plenty of sinks for the endless washing up! The dining room was truly spectacular and we were all able to sit down and enjoy all the lovely meals that had been cooked in the kitchen. I didn't stay in Plas Ceiriog but my cousins and aunts thoroughly enjoyed the clean, luxurious bedrooms and the en suite bathrooms which were excellent. An added touch were the games and books which were there for us all to enjoy. Lovely views out over the village, so even though it was cold (3 March) we could sit and enjoy a beer at lunchtime sitting out. Great atmosphere - we will definitely book as a family again. Thanks Katy and James! — Clare Billington, 13 Mar 2023

We stayed at Plas Ceiriog Lodge for Christmas 2022. There were 27 of us and everyone agreed it was amazing. The house was spotlessly clean and there was so much room to spread out but also to all be together. The dining room was brilliant for us all to sit together for Christmas dinner and the lounge was comfortable with plenty of room to all open our presents together. The kitchen had everything you could possibly need to cater for a large number and we had caterers in to cook Christmas dinner and they found everything they needed. We didn't venture out much but the surrounding scenery was beautiful even in the bad weather and the local shop very useful. Katy and James were really helpful when we had any queries, We only had one problem we didn't book long enough ! — Wendy Hill, 25 Jan 2023

We booked the house for a 40th birthday in Jan and filled it with kids and parents. The amount of room inside is awesome, like having a whole hotel to yourselves. The facilities were spot on (as i catered for 28 people without too much hassle) and the surrounding area is beautiful. Would highly recommend and would go back without hesitation. — Ollie Edwards, 23 Jan 2023

The whole experience was fantastic! Finding venues to accommodate large groups is difficult and often they are quite basic & tend to be a bit like a youth hostel, so having somewhere as lovely as the lodge in such a beautiful setting is great for a mixed group such as ours. On arrival everyone was amazed at how lovely & well equipped the property is and thought it was great for everyone to have their own lovely room & en-suite as well as having the large communal spaces which we could use together.I must also say a huge "Thank you" to you Katy...you have been so helpful all the way through from my initial enquiry to our actual visit (and even afterwards with the items we left behind!) and you have been so accommodating with my requests & enquiries. — C Jones, 14 Nov 2022

Every year a group of new and old friends (approximately 24-30) book for a weekend away. We play games, eat, walk and generally just relax in laughter. Over the years we have visited many lovely establishments and villages. Without question, Plas Ceiriog is the best location we have stayed in for such a large group. The accommodation caters so well for the numbers, beginning with a spacious car park. The lounge easily sits 30 plus with a fantastic real fire, plenty of books and games to play. There is a beautiful big hallway and a snug TV room. The dining room is perfect for large numbers with a kitchen that catered for every need. The joy didn’t stop there with spacious well kept bedrooms and a plentiful supply bathrooms too. Furthermore, this property is set in a beautiful location with the gentle sound of flowing water and greenery as far as the eye can see. If you are looking for a large group affordable property, you really will find no better than Plas Ceiriog. — A McCarthy, 30 Oct 2022

We've just spent the weekend at Plas Ceiriog and what a place it was. For a group of 13 it was ideal as everyone had their own rooms with Ensuit. The location is amazing, the views from the decking area are great to sit with a coffee and admire. The bedroom's are all great sizes and clean with fresh towels provided. There is plenty of seating spaces throughout the lodge so you'll never have to worry about that if you book for a larger group. Kitchen has everything you need for your stay with it having plenty of kettles, toasters, ovens and fridges. It really is catering for larger groups. The dinning room is big enough for an banquet so nobody will be left out when it comes to dinner time. The photos don't do this lodge justice as it's so much bigger than it looks. We liked that there is a bus that runs from the village to Llangollen, the bus stop if a couple of minute walk from the end of the drive so not to far at all. Ideal if you don't want to drive or walk. Thank you to Katy, she was brilliant throughout the booking process with any questions I had before booking, she responded straight away and kept me updated with anything we needed to know. All our check in details were sent to us in plenty of time with all the relevant information needed for our stay. This is certainly a place we would all go back to again, not one member of the party could get over how good the lodge was. Thank you for having us and hopefully we'll be back very soon!!!! — Jon B, 03 Oct 2022

Plas Ceiriog county lodge is a fantastic property. Loads of space with everything required for a perfect stay. I have stayed here twice so far with my extended family and we always have a wonderful time. Looking forward to our third stay this weekend. Highly recommend! — Debbie Robertson , 23 Jul 2022
